GRIEVING

Grieving is a dark comedy set in a cold, dystopian world that preys on givers and people-pleasers and rewards those who take and take without regard for others.

Diane, an aspiring actress, finds herself in the office of psychiatrist Dr. Hiller for what she believes is an acting audition. As part of a groundbreaking if controversial study, Dr. Hiller hires Diane to role play as the deceased partner of one of his clients. Desperate to get her foot in the door, Diane finds herself in a compromising position that pushes her to her limits. Diane must decide whether to continue playing the people-pleaser or to finally stand up for herself.

“Grieving” won Best Dark Comedy at Georgia Shorts Film Festival (April 2024) and is an Official Selection of Manhattan Film Festival (June 2024), Waco Independent Film Festival (July 2024), Greenpoint Film Festival (August 2024), Macon Film Festival (August 2024), Richmond International Film Festival (September 2024) and Micheaux Film Festival (October 2024). It was a semi-finalist of Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (August 2024). It’s proof-of-concept for a feature-length film.
